There are still transfer rumors surrounding Alessandro Bastoni, but since the match against Roma, they seem to tell more of a narrative constructed abroad than a real desire from the player to leave Inter. And then the support and ovation from the Nerazzurri fans, almost as if to say “stay in Milan.”
Further supporting this interpretation are the words of Andrea Ranocchia, former Nerazzurri captain and friend of the defender: “Bastoni? If I were him, I wouldn’t leave the Italian league in this situation and I think he doesn’t want to leave either, he’s a friend and we talk often.”
Meanwhile, in Spain, issues continue to emerge, mainly related to the figures involved in a potential deal. Some media outlets have reported that, should Inter not open up to a more “flexible” negotiation, Barcelona would be ready to turn to an alternative such as the Colombian Lucumí.
In Italy, however, Inter’s position appears much more rigid. As Tuttosport reports: “At Viale della Liberazione, the player is not for sale, unless he insists or an irresistible offer arrives. The €50 million valuation coming from Spain even makes Inter smile, as they have no intention of giving up a key starter, and whether you like it or not, a symbol of the winning team of recent years, for such a figure.”
And this is precisely the central point: Bastoni today is not just a starter, but a symbol of the recent Inter, whom the club will hardly want to part with, let alone discuss a possible sale at figures that are not even remotely close to the player’s real value.
