Curtis Jones remains the number one candidate to strengthen Inter’s midfield. The Liverpool midfielder is liked by both Cristian Chivu and the Nerazzurri management, with Piero Ausilio working to find an agreement with the English club. However, if the deal does not go through, an alternative has already emerged: according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have identified a profile at a club with which they are already in contact for another transfer operation.
“There is less urgency, however, regarding the compatriot Atta, class of 2003, who arrived from Metz almost without making any noise and managed to carve out space for himself, thanks to evident growth also on a physical level: thus his valuation has risen well above 20 million. In the Nerazzurri’s plans, he would be an alternative to the Englishman Curtis Jones, the company’s favorite without a doubt: Curtis is a Reds heart who, however, has been rejected by his beloved Liverpool and is now just waiting to clarify his position with the new Basque coach Iraola. The difference of about ten million between demand and offer, still to be bridged, makes it necessary to find alternatives, provided that the new midfielder knows how to change pace and beat his man: this is what Chivu wants, there among Calhanoglu, Barella, Zielinski, Sucic and Mkhitaryan.”
