The recent market moves by Inter downsize some of the theories that have circulated in recent months regarding the management of the ownership. The arrival of Djed Spence from Tottenham for a sum exceeding 30 million and that of John Stones on a free transfer represent two operations that contradict reconstructions previously considered credible.
According to Libero, the purchase of Spence demonstrates that 25 million euros does not constitute an insurmountable ceiling for incoming transfers, as had long been claimed. Rather, it is an indicative threshold to contain the annual cost of a player, which can be exceeded when the profile is convincing and meets the technical needs of the team.
The supposed policy against signing over-30 free agents has also been downplayed by the arrival of Stones. The English defender, 32 years old, has signed a two-year contract worth 4 million net, with commissions below 3 million. The defense has therefore been completed before the wing-backs, overturning the initial order of priorities.
The newspaper highlights the flexibility of the squad that has been built: Spence and Luis Henrique can play on both flanks, ensuring tactical versatility. As for Luis Henrique himself, the management appears straightforward: he will only be sold for a sum not less than 30 million and only if the player wishes to leave. At the moment, such a desire towards Roma has not yet materialized.
