Atletico Madrid has officially announced the signing of Cristian Romero. The Argentine defender, who in the past had been closely followed by Inter, moves to Spain for a fee of 40 million euros.

Romero has signed a contract that will tie him to the Colchoneros until 2031. The Madrid club beat out the Nerazzurri competition, convincing the center-back to join the project in the Spanish capital.

This definitively closes the chapter that had brought the defender’s name into Inter’s orbit.
