Roma enters the race for Rafik Belghali, the Algerian winger who was relegated with Verona but had a positive season, culminating in good performances at the recent World Cup. The Giallorossi are looking for a replacement after losing Celik on a free transfer to Juventus.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Verona’s relegation has put the Algerian with a Belgian passport on the market, and the capital club is at the front of the line. The valuation is around 15 million euros, with a salary well within the club’s reach. Relations with the Scaligeri are excellent after the Ghilardi deal.
One element that makes Belghali particularly interesting is his versatility: he can play on both wings, a characteristic he shares with Celik. In addition to the Giallorossi, Savona from Nottingham is also still in the running.
