Inter could close the transfer window without further moves in defense. With the arrival of Stones, who has filled the last available slot, the Nerazzurri management is considering keeping the squad currently at Cristian Chivu‘s disposal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, it is not ruled out that the club may stick with the current roster, without any more operations in the defensive department. The decision largely depends on Benjamin Pavard‘s willingness to stay in Milan.
The French defender continues to send clear signals about his intention to remain. Despite interest from European clubs and Saudi Arabia, Pavard wants to fight for his chances to stay with the Nerazzurri.
Regarding other transfer targets, Moussa Diaby and Curtis Jones remain hot names for the right wing and midfield, respectively. As for Romero, that trail has almost completely cooled off: it is unlikely that the advances from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona for the player will not result in something concrete soon, one way or the other.
