The contractual situation of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij remains unresolved. Both defenders of Inter have contracts expiring in June 2026 and the Nerazzurri club has chosen to postpone any evaluation. This was confirmed by their agent Federico Pastorello, who gave an update on the negotiations in an interview with TMW.
“The club has been clear with us, it will make a decision only at the end of the season,” explained the agent. “Obviously, there are those who will still be free to negotiate a renewal and those who, in the meantime, will have already signed for another club, but I don’t see any decisions already made on the horizon.” Inter is dealing with a complex situation, with five or six players whose contracts are expiring and who have marked the club’s recent history.
“Some will say goodbye, others will renew. We are still quite calm, we know that the club will resume talks between May and June,” added Pastorello. In the meantime, however, the agent is not standing still. “We do our job, which is to bring as many options as possible to the players, and I will do the same this time,” he said, suggesting that there will be no shortage of alternatives.
Despite this, the bond with Milan remains strong. “Both players are very attached to Inter. De Vrij is in his eighth season with the Nerazzurri and Acerbi has also written very important pages in the club’s recent history. They are very happy in Milan and I don’t rule anything out, but it will be discussed at the appropriate time,” concluded the manager.
