Inter is looking for a winger to replace Dumfries and in recent hours there has been talk of Diaby but also of Nico Gonzalez, who is set to leave Juventus. The Argentine, who lasted just one season at Juventus and did not convince at all, spent the last year on loan at Atletico Madrid.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nico has already informed Juventus and Spalletti that he no longer wants to play for Juventus and his first choice would be to return to Atletico Madrid: he found plenty of playing time under Cholo, even scored 5 goals in La Liga despite some injuries limiting him. Atletico could have redeemed him for 32 million euros but did not exercise the option, with Juventus now asking at least 27 million for the former Fiorentina player’s card.
From this situation, currently stalled on the Spanish front, a new path has opened: the one that would bring him back to Italy, to Milan (but he is also liked by Gasperini). The Nerazzurri club is now considering it, evaluating Lautaro’s national teammate because he too, a bit like Diaby, would tactically guarantee a drive that a “normal” wing-back would not offer. For now, there have been no direct contacts between the clubs.
And a swap deal? Davide Frattesi, whom the Juventus CEO knows well, could go the other way but for now this is nothing more than a hypothesis.
On the Arab front, instead, it remains to be seen whether Al-Ittihad will open up to the transfer of the Frenchman, who had already said yes to Inter in January but the wall from the Jeddah club did not come down, and to the inclusion of Kristjan Asllani, a surplus valued at 10-12 million, in the negotiation.
