With the contracts of Stefan De Vrij and Francesco Acerbi coming to an end and, as of today, no signs of a possible renewal, Inter must look for at least one new defender for 2026. Several profiles have recently been linked to the Nerazzurri and one in particular has received a confirmation.
It is Tarik Muharemovic, central defender for Sassuolo, who has made a good impression in these first matches of Serie A. The 2003-born player is highly regarded by Inter, as confirmed by Niccolò Ceccarini on TMW, explaining how the excellent relations between the two clubs could facilitate the deal:
“In addition to this, the role of central defender is another target for next year. Among the many options, that of Tarik Muharemovic has been added. The 22-year-old Bosnian central defender from Sassuolo has started off very well, proving to be one of the revelations of these first 6 matchdays of the championship. The relations between the two clubs are excellent, as also demonstrated by recent operations in the past.”
