The future of Manu Koné remains uncertain. The Roma midfielder was very close to transferring to Inter last summer and remains one of the profiles on Inter’s radar. In the last few hours, however, Matteo Moretto has clarified the situation, speaking on Fabrizio Romano‘s Italian channel, revealing contacts between the Giallorossi and a club from the Spanish La Liga.
“It is true that Roma absolutely must make x million in capital gains by June 30, a significant amount,” explained the journalist. “Keep an eye on Manu Koné as well: the news I want to share is that he has been offered to Atletico Madrid.”
There has been contact between intermediaries. In any case, for Atletico he is not a priority, he is not a profile currently being considered. So, in short, the possibility of Manu Koné moving to Spain is not one I would pursue at the moment; surely there will be other teams interested in him as soon as the season ends. We need to understand what kind of player Roma can sell based on the offers and, in addition to the sporting director’s choice, on Gasperini’s wishes, because Gasperini has always said he wants to create, to build a competitive Roma, but important players are needed.”
