During the last day of the transfer market of the last summer session, Inter made a double move for the defensive department. On one hand, there was the excellent addition of Manuel Akanji, who immediately proved to be a valuable reinforcement for the Nerazzurri defense, but on the other hand, there was the departure of Benjamin Pavard.
The former Bayern defender flew to Marseille on loan and is making a name for himself in De Zerbi’s team. According to Tuttosport, the French club is already intending to buy out the defender from Inter, and so both Pavard and Akanji could remain at their current club after moving on loan in the last hours.
“OM has no obligation, but will be able to freely decide whether or not to exercise the buyout option at the end of the season. The feeling is that for Roberto De Zerbi, the French international is already indispensable. That’s why there is a high chance that the double market move could materialize in 2026,” explains the sports daily.
