Inter has completed the Khalaili deal, with the player expected today for medical examinations and to sign the contract. The agreement with Union Saint-Gilloise was reached on the basis of 25 million euros, a figure similar to what was invested a year ago for Luis Henrique and Diouf.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marotta and Ausilio convinced the Belgian club to sell the right winger, who will sign a five-year contract worth 2 million per season plus bonuses. The twenty-two-year-old will be able to join the team from the very start of training camp and leave for the retreat in Germany.

Khalaili is a profile also appreciated by Chivu and in line with Oaktree‘s financial policy, aimed at keeping the accounts in order by enhancing young talents. The winger is extremely fast, capable of reaching 35 kilometers per hour in sprints, and has the characteristics of the attacking player Inter was looking for. The player is reminiscent of Hakimi, his declared idol.

As the newspaper points out, the player is not afraid to push into the final third of the pitch, but needs to refine his defensive skills to become a complete winger for the 3-5-2 formation. It will be Chivu’s task to improve him and adapt him to Serie A’s tactical standards.

The player’s talent had already emerged a couple of years ago, when Union bought him for 7.5 million, a record figure for an Israeli player arriving in Europe. Now the Belgians are selling him for almost four times as much, considering the bonuses and the 15% sell-on clause. Khalaili also had admirers at Napoli and in Germany, but immediately chose Inter. In the last friendlies, he did not take the field with Saint-Gilloise, awaiting the finalization of the transfer.
