The Khalaili operation ends with a bitter epilogue for the Nerazzurri. The Israeli winger is currently completing the second part of his medical examinations with Crystal Palace, after the deal with Inter fell through due to regulatory reasons. Fabrizio Romano provided the details, reconstructing the steps of a negotiation that collapsed at the last moment.
The Union St. Gilloise player had already undergone medicals with the Nerazzurri club, but approval from CONI did not arrive. “It was not a choice by Inter, they were forced not to complete the signing of Khalaili in light of Italian regulations,” Romano explained. This setback forced the Nerazzurri to withdraw from the race, even though the player was leaning towards Milan.
Crystal Palace then seized the opportunity, reaching an agreement with Union St. Gilloise on the same terms previously agreed with Inter: around 25 million euros. The English club moved quickly to secure the winger, who is now one step away from wearing a Premier League shirt. Once all medical steps are completed, the transfer will become official.
A blow for the Nerazzurri, who had identified Khalaili as an interesting profile to strengthen the squad. The player himself would have gladly gone to Inter, but regulatory constraints have steered his career towards London.
