Inter has reached an agreement with the player and is now working to convince Union Saint-Gilloise to let Khalaili leave. The Israeli right winger has made it clear to the Belgian club that he wants to wear the Nerazzurri shirt, eager to play in Serie A and return to the Champions League with an ambitious team.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a five-year contract worth just under two million per season is ready for the 21-year-old at the Viale della Liberazione offices. The negotiation is proceeding directly between the two clubs without intermediaries, and confidence in closing the deal quickly remains high. The goal is to have him available by July 16, when Chivu and the team will leave for the training camp in Germany, which will end on the 26th with the first friendly against Karlsruhe.
The main sticking point remains the financial valuation: Union wants to achieve a record sale of 30 million euros. The Nerazzurri club intends to reach an agreement without haste, relying on two factors: there is no fierce competition ready to snatch the player away and the Israeli’s yes already arrived last week.
The player’s attitude confirms his intentions. After missing the last friendly against Steaua Bucharest (officially due to a physical problem, but actually to avoid injury risks), he has already communicated internally that he does not want to take the field even in the next summer test against the Danes of Aarhus, scheduled for July 11. The player’s hope is that by that date he will already have become an Inter player.
