The transfer of Davide Frattesi remains the central issue for the pursuit of Curtis Jones, the main target identified by Cristian Chivu. According to Tuttosport, the ownership will have to decide whether the departure of the Italian midfielder on a loan deal with an option to buy, a concrete possibility in the second half of August, will be enough to authorize the definitive push for the Liverpool player.
The Nerazzurri club has so far gone up to 35 million euros, including bonuses, and is unlikely to go beyond that amount. The Reds, for their part, are sticking to their demand of 40 million. The question posed by the Turin daily concerns the possible evolution of the negotiations: will Liverpool stick to its position or will it eventually lower its demands considering Jones‘ contract expiring in 2027?
The financial gap between supply and demand remains small, but crucial for the outcome of the deal. The management is waiting for concrete developments on the Frattesi front before taking the decisive step for the English midfielder.
