Inter continues to work on Curtis Jones, a midfielder who has been consistently monitored in recent months. Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, reiterated that the Englishman is an absolute priority in the Nerazzurri’s transfer strategies.

“Curtis Jones is a player who has been at the top of Inter’s list since January. He was there in May, June, and July, and he will be in August. He is Ausilio’s favorite,” said the transfer expert. The Nerazzurri director is following the midfielder with particular interest, considering him an ideal reinforcement for the midfield.

After weeks of stalemate, the Milanese club has reportedly resumed contacts with Liverpool to check the possibility of concretely reopening negotiations. The Reds’ position, however, remains firm: “Liverpool continues to ask for 40 million euros. They say: 40 or we’re wasting time.”

Marotta and Ausilio are trying to lower the valuation, also considering the fact that Jones has only one year left on his contract. At the moment, however, there has been no willingness to close at lower figures, such as 32, 33, or 35 million.

The Nerazzurri management has reportedly noticed with interest the willingness shown by the midfielder. Some behaviors on and off the pitch have been interpreted as signs of his desire to move to Milan. Romano, however, urges caution: “Today, this is not a deal that is unlocking. Inter continues to hope and work on it, but they are not yet any closer to Curtis Jones.”
