The path that leads Curtis Jones to Inter could take a completely different direction. According to Corriere dello Sport, negotiations with Liverpool have reached a stalemate due to the gap between the asking price and the offer. The Reds are not willing to give discounts: despite the contract expiring in 2027, the English club continues to value the 2001-born midfielder at around 35 million pounds.
The latest offer from the Nerazzurri stopped at 25 million euros, communicated two weeks ago by Piero Ausilio. An amount that did not sway the English club’s demands, nor did the player’s stance help, as he has repeatedly expressed his desire to move to Milan in talks with his club.
At this point, a new hypothesis could emerge: a free transfer in the following season. This is a solution that the management on Viale della Liberazione would consider only after trying in every way to close the deal already this summer. The feasibility of the alternative plan will obviously depend on other offers that may arrive for the player and his willingness to stay another year in England.
A scenario that, in any case, is not being ruled out a priori by the Nerazzurri club, as they wait to see if in the coming days an opening will arise to unlock the situation.
