Inter has not changed its target for the midfield. According to Fabrizio Romano on X, Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones remains at the top of the Nerazzurri management’s preferences since May. The club believes that the deal could be closed for a figure close to 35 million euros.
However, before proceeding with the new bid, an intermediate step is needed. At Via della Liberazione, they are waiting for the sale of Davide Frattesi, who has been strongly linked to Lazio in recent hours. Only after the departure of the Italian midfielder will the management give the final green light.
A new attempt is still certain before the close of the summer transfer window. Jones’ contract with Liverpool expires in June 2027 and the Reds value the player at 40 million euros. The gap between the Nerazzurri’s offer and the asking price is just a few million, but the transfer strategy depends on the sale.
