The Nerazzurri transfer market continues to move between objectives and budget constraints. After having twice identified a solution for the wing, for different reasons the search for a wide player is still open. A puzzle that intertwines with the other needs of the squad.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, it is a game of combinations. Inter started with a budget of 50 million euros, to which the proceeds from sales are added. Oaktree could loosen the purse strings, not only to authorize deals over 25 million for a single player.
On the incoming front, three players have already filled as many slots: Stankovic jr. was bought back from Bruges for 23 million euros, Provedel arrived from Lazio for 3 million, while Massolin had already been signed in January from Modena, where he remained until the end of the season. As for departures, in addition to the free agents Sommer, Acerbi, De Vrij and Darmian, the only recorded deal is that of Dumfries, signed by Real Madrid through the payment of the 20 million release clause.
The Nerazzurri market still has a lot to do: a right winger, one or two defenders, plus a midfielder, if the midfield can be trimmed down. The real puzzle, however, concerns how to distribute the available resources: where to focus them and where to save. Reaching all the high-level profiles on the wish list is not possible with the resources available.
For each role and need, more expensive and less expensive targets have been identified. The evaluations are twofold: economic and technical. If there is a player truly considered capable of making a difference, it is probably preferable to focus on him, accepting to settle for other positions, the newspaper concludes.
