The January transfer window is fast approaching and—as already mentioned yesterday in these columns—for Inter it will be important to find a new addition in defense in order to rejuvenate the department. At the end of the season, Acerbi, Darmian, and De Vrij could all leave at once, as all three have contracts expiring in June.
One of the defenders most liked by the Nerazzurri management is Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace, but there are also other big clubs interested and in June he will be a free agent. The only way to get him in January would be to offer a swap deal to the English club by including Yann Bisseck in the deal, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport:
“He has chosen not to renew and it is easy to imagine that in the summer there will be a bidding war in which the Nerazzurri do not intend to participate. The only way could be to bring him to Italy early in January, perhaps aiming for a broader operation that includes Bisseck. But for now, these are just suggestions.”
