Inter is considering three names to replace Dumfries

Inter continues to work on three different options to find a replacement for Denzel Dumfries. According to Corriere dello Sport, the negotiations for Djed Spence are not as close to completion as they seemed.

The first option remains Moussa Diaby, already targeted by the Nerazzurri in January and never completely ruled out. However, the deal presents several difficulties: the Frenchman earns a salary of 15 million per year, although he has declared himself willing to reduce it. Al-Ittihad values the player at 40 million euros and, at least for now, does not intend to contribute to the payment of his salary to facilitate the transfer. Further complicating the situation is the competition from Bayer Leverkusen.

Precisely the difficulties related to Diaby have brought Spence back into the spotlight as a second option. The performance offered at the World Cup had cooled the Nerazzurri’s interest due to the high costs, but Tottenham could consider offers around a total of 35 million, an amount that would reopen room for negotiation.

The third option leads to Nico Gonzalez, possibly through a swap with Davide Frattesi, a deal for which there are currently no concrete developments. “The options Inter is considering,” specifies the newspaper, “are not limited to these names, because while time is running out, for Inter it is more important to provide the coach with a player who is already ready and reliable, balancing the margin of risk that the Nerazzurri are already taking with Diouf on that side.”
