Black smoke for Inter’s second attempt to land Curtis Jones. According to reports from the British press, Liverpool has rejected the second offer made by the Nerazzurri for the English midfielder. Despite the fact that the 2001-born player’s contract expires in a year and rumors of a possible departure continue to circulate, as well as the player’s apparent desire to move elsewhere, the Reds do not seem willing to offer any discounts. The Daily Mail writes:

“This weekend Inter saw a second attempt to sign Jones fade away, with the Italian champions having offered around £21.7 million for the Reds midfielder. Jones, 25, has been at the club since he was a child, but rumors of his possible departure this summer have been circulating for some time, due to strong interest from Inter, especially considering the midfielder has only one year left on his contract. But unless Inter – or another club – makes an offer of around £35-40 million, Liverpool is also willing to let him enter the final year of his contract, even if it means losing him on a free transfer next year.”
