Inter enters August with a squad that needs to be trimmed before making any incoming moves. The management has identified four players set to leave, with the aim of raising funds to finance their transfer targets.
In addition to Benjamin Pavard, whose future remains tied to the possible arrival of Cristian Romero, the midfield is the department that needs to be lightened. Cristian Chivu would like to start the season with seven players in the department, and after Ebenezer Akinsanmiro’s move to Monza, Kristjan Asllani, Yanis Massolin, and Davide Frattesi are still set to leave.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the sale of Frattesi represents the most significant financial operation. The midfielder has a market and his departure would free up space in the squad, while also raising the necessary funds to attempt an assault on Curtis Jones.
Liverpool maintains a firm stance on the English midfielder, but his expiring contract could become a decisive factor as the weeks go by. The Nerazzurri management does not want to be rushed and hopes that August will make some currently blocked operations more accessible.
Inter is also monitoring the situation of Sebastiano Esposito at Cagliari. In the event of a future sale of the striker, the club would receive 40% of the proceeds thanks to the percentage agreed upon at the time of the transfer.
