Gianluca Di Marzio has returned to talk about the goalkeeper issue at Inter, a particularly important transfer market matter also because it could have a direct impact on the club’s overall strategies. In fact, if the idea of investing in a new starter, such as Vicario, is really set aside, the budget could be redirected towards a signing in another department.
This is one of the reasons why the increasingly concrete choice is to continue with Josep Martinez, a profile that seems to have convinced for reliability and potential, with the idea of pairing him with an experienced backup who can provide security in rotations and in case of emergencies.
According to what the journalist reported in his podcast Caffè Di Marzio in collaboration with TMW, the Nerazzurri club would have set aside the idea of Vicario:
“Inter is still working on the goalkeeper front, the Vicario deal has practically faded even though Inter has always had a preference for the Italian: the decision is still to focus on a backup as we have reported in recent days about Martinez and to sign Provedel as a reliable second choice.”
