The trail leading to Djed Spence is becoming more complicated for Inter. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham does not intend to part with the English winger unless faced with an irresistible offer. Roberto De Zerbi, coach of the Spurs, was able to appreciate the player’s qualities at the recent World Cup, where Spence showcased his speed and both offensive and defensive abilities, as demonstrated by a decisive recovery on Giuliano Simeone in the match against Argentina.
After those performances, the Spurs have raised their demands: now the asking price is set at 40 million euros. The pink newspaper highlights how recent deals, including Anderson to Manchester City and Tonali to Tottenham, have changed the valuation parameters in the English market.
Despite the difficulties, Inter remains in the running to try to complete the deal. For his part, the player would be enthusiastic about returning to Serie A with Inter after his experience at Genoa.
In the meantime, the Nerazzurri have alternative plans ready. Among these is Perisic, who has offered himself several times and has obtained the consent of Psv to leave the Dutch club a year before his contract expires.
