The Australian tour of Inter ended with a victory against Juventus, but Chivu maintains a demanding attitude. The Nerazzurri coach told Sky: “You can always do better, but for what we were today, this tour far from Europe ends in the best possible way, without injuries and also with a good performance.”
The coach had to manage the team without Thuram and Lautaro Martinez, who stayed home for post-World Cup holidays. The Australian tour still provided valuable indications for the coach, who identified the pieces needed to complete the squad.
On the transfer front, one of the players most appreciated by Chivu was Cristian Romero. The negotiation became complicated also due to the stay of Benjamin Pavard. Meanwhile, Stones has arrived and the coach’s requests are clear: the backbone of the team exists, as do the structure and the core of the squad. The right additions are needed to raise the quality level.
The other big target remains Curtis Jones. The Liverpool midfielder is liked for his versatility. However, before making a move, some departures are needed, and in this regard Frattesi and Asllani are involved.
