The future of Curtis Jones could become intertwined with that of Inter. According to Tuttosport, Cristian Chivu is pushing for the English midfielder, considering him a player capable of making a difference and therefore requesting his services, despite the current abundance in midfield. The player’s contract expires in a year, but Liverpool is asking for 40 million to let him go.
The coach appreciates his dynamism, physicality, and innate ability to play vertically, qualities that the manager believes are lacking in the current squad. The Turin-based newspaper highlights that the Englishman would provide what Davide Frattesi has never managed to deliver, who is set to leave along with Kristjan Asllani, even though at the moment there are few offers for the two.
The coach’s pressure could lead management to change priorities between searching for a winger and a midfielder. The available budget remains the one originally allocated to Palestra, resources that, instead of being used for a winger, would be destined for Curtis Jones.
Jones is rejecting every possible destination proposed to him, the latest being Nottingham Forest. Inter, partly due to the priority given to searching for a winger, has never come close to what the other party is asking. However, the player’s contractual situation could favor negotiations in the coming weeks.
