After a season, the one that is about to end, in which Cristian Chivu basically had to adapt to the squad he found himself with, without being able to set up a transfer market truly oriented towards his idea of football, everything could change during the next summer. The Romanian coach will remain at the helm of Inter, moreover with a contract renewal until 2028 that should arrive at the end of the season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, what Chivu is preparing for Inter is precisely a tactical revolution. Together with the management team formed by Marotta and Ausilio, they are considering abandoning the dogma of the three-man defense that has been maintained for many years, ever since the Conte era. The Inter coach, who has always been associated with the idea of a not too drastic change with the switch to 3-4-2-1, is instead also considering a 4-2-3-1.
Hence choices and rumors at the transfer market level: Aleksandar Stankovic and Manu Koné would be perfect in a two-man midfield, as would that Moussa Diaby who still intrigues. The same could be said about the possible departure of Alessandro Bastoni, which would push even more towards a switch to a four-man defense. There are still some doubts, however, about the future of Hakan Calhanoglu.
