Calhanoglu and Inter, no renewal under negotiation: the situation

The contractual situation of Hakan Calhanoglu remains unresolved. The midfielder, in an interview given to La Gazzetta dello Sport, stated that he has not yet discussed his future with Inter beyond the expiration of his current contract. Fabrizio Romano, a transfer market expert, clarified the situation through his YouTube channel.

According to Romano, the Turkish player told the truth: the Nerazzurri club and the midfielder have decided to continue together for this final season of the contract without any guarantee of renewal. It is a deliberate choice, shared at the club level, including ownership. Calhanoglu will therefore face the current season wearing the Inter shirt, and then it will be assessed whether there is room to extend the relationship.

At the moment, there are no ongoing negotiations for a renewal. The current scenario leaves every door open regarding the midfielder’s future, which will only be defined at the end of the season.
