The purchase of John Stones does not rule out the arrival of Cristian Romero. Piero Ausilio is keeping channels open with Tottenham and the Argentine defender’s entourage, convinced that the price of the deal could drop over time. At the moment, the asking price is around 45-50 million euros, while the player’s salary is about 6 million net per season.
According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri sporting director believes that both figures could decrease in the coming weeks, unless other top clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Barcelona or Arsenal enter the scene. The strategy therefore involves a waiting phase to assess any opportunities.
On the right flank, after the Palestra and Khalaili options and the requests considered excessive for Spence, the club is examining several profiles to find the most suitable solution. In the meantime, the position has been temporarily covered with Diouf and Luis Henrique.
In midfield, Simone Chivu continues to follow Curtis Jones, but Liverpool values the player at 40 million euros despite his contract expiring in 2027. To make a move, Frattesi and Asllani will first need to be sold, unless the club decides to draw on the available budget anyway.
