Indeed, it took the Austrian center-forward just a few minutes to align with his teammates and essentially mess up every ball. A couple of off-target headers, a series of inaccurate layoffs, and above all a missed goal on a perfect assist from Lautaro Martinez.
This negative impact triggers deep reflections on Inter’s market, both past and future. It’s true that the former Bologna player’s contract will expire at the end of the season, but the Nerazzurri club’s action in attack could be advanced to early June in order to give Simone Inzaghi a new set of forwards. Neither Arnautovic nor Taremi have proved up to the standard of ThuLa this season, so new additions may arrive in the extra window from June 1 to 10 in view of the Club World Cup taking place in the summer.

Rather, such black nights only accelerate the search for new forwards for the future Inter. There’s also the Club World Cup to think about and that early June window potentially to exploit.
