One of the big topics for the summer transfer market for Inter in recent weeks has always been that of the new defender, since the club first tried for Giovanni Leoni and then Koni De Winter as options to rejuvenate the department, but in the end one went to Liverpool and the other to Milan, who moved faster.
The fans complain about the average age being too high and (apart from Bisseck and Bastoni) there are no players who can guarantee a future for the department. There are also as many as three defenders like De Vrij, Acerbi and Darmian who are all out of contract at the end of the season and with many doubts. According to DAZN, Inter has more or less already decided the fate of all three.
Acerbi (born in 1988) is the one least likely to stay, as he will turn 38 and will almost certainly say goodbye at the end of the season. De Vrij (1992) is a certainty, but if a rejuvenation process is started, he too will be released. Darmian (1989), on the other hand, has a chance to obtain a short-term renewal given his great versatility.
