After the friendly match between Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao, Nicola Zalewski spoke at the press conference to comment on the performance against the Basques and the upcoming start of the season. The Atalanta midfielder also addressed the topic of transfer rumors concerning him.
The former Inter player spoke about his use as a winger in an attacking trio, referring to his past experience as a mezzala, which he had while wearing the Nerazzurri shirt. “The transfer market? I have nothing to clarify on this aspect. My role as a winger? I have played in this position since my youth teams. Maybe I had to adapt a bit more to the mezzala position (a position I had never played before joining Inter, ed.).”
The Pole thus recalled how the mezzala role was a completely new experience for him before his time at Inter, where he tried out that position under the guidance of Simone Inzaghi. Now, with Atalanta, Zalewski finds himself in a more familiar tactical position, that of a winger, which he had already played in the youth teams.
