After the disappointment from the draw against Parma, the Nerazzurri have already shifted their focus toward one of their most difficult but also critical matches of the season: Tuesday evening’s game in Munich against Bayern in the Champions League quarter-finals. Bayern-Inter will represent the first leg of this double encounter between the respective league leaders.

Today, UEFA has announced the referee assignments for the upcoming round of the Champions League, and the match between Bayern Munich and Inter will be officiated by 36-year-old Sandro Schärer. The Swiss referee will be assisted by assistant referees Stéphane De Almeida and Jonas Erni, while Lukas Fahndrich will serve as the fourth official. Fedayi San will take charge of the VAR, assisted by Pol van Boekel.

For Schärer, this will be the third official match of his career involving Inter. The prior two encounters were during the previous two editions of the Champions League, where Simone Inzaghi‘s team managed to obtain one victory 0-2 against Viktoria Plzen in 2022/23 and one draw 0-0 at home with Real Sociedad in 2023/24.
