This week the eagerly awaited Italian Super Cup returns to the stage with the now customary four-team format. The first semifinal will see Napoli and Milan face off on Thursday, December 18 in a single match, while on Friday, December 19 it will be Bologna and Inter battling in ninety minutes for direct access to the final scheduled for Monday, December 22.

This afternoon, therefore, the AIA has officially announced the referee assignments for the two semifinals. Officiating Bologna-Inter will be Daniele Chiffi, assisted by Rossi and Fontemurato and fourth official Dionisi. The VAR will instead be directed by Maresca with Pezzuto as his assistant.

Returning to Chiffi, there have been 18 previous matches in his career with Inter across all competitions, in which the Nerazzurri have achieved 10 wins, 6 draws, and only 2 defeats. These, moreover, came in two league derbies: in September 2022, the 3-2 defeat at San Siro against Milan, while in March 2023, again at the Meazza, the slip-up with a 0-1 loss against Juventus.
