Just a few hours before the official award ceremony for the Ballon d’Or, a surprising piece of news comes in contravention to the initial predictions. According to what Fabrizio Romano reports, the winner will not be Vinicius. Once the choice was known, Real Madrid decided not to make any of its members attend the ceremony scheduled for this evening.

Gianluca Di Marzio on his official website says that the winner will most likely be Rodri from Manchester City, who won the Premier League and the Euros with Spain. The midfielder is expected to be ranked ahead of Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.

Nothing for Lautaro Martinez of Inter, who should nonetheless rank among the top 5, although there are uncertainties about the final position. The Argentine didn’t start brilliantly this season, but comes from winning the Scudetto and Copa America, both as top scorer.
