Vado eliminated Inter U23 last night in the first round of the Coppa Italia Serie C. After a 1-1 draw at the end of ninety minutes, the Ligurian side prevailed in the penalty shootout in front of their home crowd on an evening that brought satisfaction to the team.

The sporting director of the Ligurian club, Paolo Mancuso, commented on the match to IGV microphones: “I have to be honest, I managed to suffer even in a Coppa Italia match. I congratulate the boys and the group, making a debut like this is not easy. We haven’t done anything yet, but it’s a win that boosts morale, helps us, and allows us to be ready for the league opener against Atalanta U23.”

The executive then praised the quality of the Nerazzurri squad: “It will be a tough challenge, like today. Inter, besides having very strong players, is known to everyone. From this point of view, we can only be satisfied. In my opinion, today two good teams faced each other. There was a moment when we played better, while maybe they played better in the second half.”

Mancuso concluded with a look to the future: “These are still August matches, with new teams on both sides. It’s normal that they have positive moments too. It turned out to be a good match, even a tough one, in which we saw some good things. On our part, there is room for improvement, so tomorrow morning we will definitely go and look at the things that maybe didn’t go so well. We are satisfied, but we haven’t done anything yet: on Friday there will really be a battle. It’s positive to have achieved such a result because it gives you that confidence.”
