The schedule is not giving Inter any breathing space as they prepare for intense upcoming weeks. Indeed, the Nerazzurri will have to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League, then Bologna in Serie A, Milan in the Coppa Italia, and finally Roma in the league, in quick succession.

In the latest episode of Pressing, journalist Riccardo Trevisani spoke about the topic of the team’s physical and mental endurance under coach Inzaghi. He expressed serious concerns about possible fatigue in the squad, expecting performance dips in at least one of these games.

These are his words:

Inter will need to make a tremendous effort against Bayern to advance, then travel to Bologna and make another big effort, and then play the return derby, again exerting great effort. As it has happened throughout the season, I expect that at some point this team will have a day of collapse, similar to what happened during Fiorentina-Inter. I don’t know if it will occur against Bayern—I truly hope not—or against Bologna, Roma, or Milan. I don’t think it’s possible that four matches in 10 days will all be at the level of Bayern Munich-Inter. They would have to be robots.
