Trevisani against VAR: “This is unforgivable!”

The missed penalty awarded to Inter in the derby for Ricci‘s handball continues to spark debate. Trevisani expressed his opinion bluntly on Pressing, highlighting how the incident recalls a previous one involving Bisseck.

According to the journalist, the comparison with what happened in Inter-Lazio last season is clear. “The Bisseck penalty in Inter-Lazio last year is identical. Look at Bisseck’s arm, he makes the exact same movement,” Trevisani said. In his view, the difference lies in the management by the referees involved.

“It’s just that in Inter-Lazio there were Di Paolo and Guida who are better than Abisso and Di Bello,” he added, directing specific criticism at the derby’s refereeing pair. The journalist nonetheless acknowledged Doveri‘s performance, emphasizing that “the match was refereed very well.”

The responsibility for the incident is attributed to the VAR room. “It’s that in the VAR room they did something that makes no sense. It’s an unforgivable mistake by Abisso and Di Bello,” Trevisani concluded, calling the error unacceptable given the importance of the match.
