Inter is preparing for Saturday’s match against Atalanta with some positive signs coming from the infirmary. After facing the derby without their starting attacking duo, Chivu can count on the recovery of at least one of his main strikers.

Despite the day off granted by the coach, yesterday some players still showed up at Appiano Gentile. This gesture did not go unnoticed and demonstrates their desire to be available for the team again. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, not all the injured players will be ready for Saturday afternoon’s match.

The good news mainly concerns Thuram, who has recovered from the flu and will be able to pair up with Pio Esposito in attack again. There is optimism regarding Bastoni, as the severe bruise to his tibia suffered in the derby could be completely overcome during the week, while Dumfries is ready to reclaim his starting spot after five months out of the starting eleven.

The situation for Lautaro and Calhanoglu is different. The captain and the Turkish midfielder have not yet fully recovered and Chivu will have to wait a bit longer before having them available again. The goal for both is to return to the field for the away match against Fiorentina on March 22.
