One of the absolute protagonists of Inter in the resounding 5-0 victory against Torino was without a doubt Marcus Thuram. The French striker scored a brace that allowed him to start the league well right away and to dispel the criticism that had come his way at the end of last season.
Below are the ratings for Thuram from the main Italian sports newspapers the day after Inter-Torino:
LA GAZZETTA DELLO SPORT 8 – “Dad and brother, Juventus fans, applaud him at home: this is the real Marcus, not the one from ’25. Beyond the brace, sparkling link-up play.”
CORRIERE DELLO SPORT 8 – “A lethal right-footed diagonal and then a winning header. He shows he has turned the page compared to the end of last year and starts the league in the best possible way.”
TUTTOSPORT 8 – “Sees Toro and says goodbye. Hat-trick last season, brace last night. First goal by breaking into space, second as a true center forward, with an imposing leap over poor Biraghi. In the 2025 league he had scored only 2 goals.”
