The honor roll of the Italian Super Cup: Inter in pursuit of the record

For the fourth year in a row, Inter are set to compete in the final of the Italian Supercup and will do so tonight against Milan in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri have won all of the last three editions of this competition and do not want to break the excellent stride of recent years.

If successful tonight in the derby against Milan, Inter would clinch title number 9 in its history in the Italian Supercup. It would be a truly extraordinary achievement for Inzaghi’s team as it would move to first place in the competition’s all-time record, sharing the top spot with Juventus.

If, on the other hand, Milan were to win, it would be a significant step for the Rossoneri in the ranking of Supercup successes, as they would draw level with Inter at 8 trophies in second place, thus both remaining behind Juventus.

ITALIAN SUPERCUP ALL-TIME RECORD:
Juventus 9;
Inter 8;
Milan 7;
Lazio 5;
Roma and Napoli 2;
Fiorentina, Parma and Sampdoria 1.
