Today an important update arrived from the municipality of Milan concerning the future of the Giuseppe Meazza stadium and its neighboring areas, which — as already widely known — are targeted by Inter and Milan for modernising the structure. Today, the municipal council officially approved the resolution outlining guidelines for related development activities in this area.

The municipal notice stated, Guidelines for the development activities following the proposal for the purchase of the property complex called ‘GFU San Siro,’ including the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, jointly presented, pursuant to Article 4, paragraph 13 of Legislative Decree February 28, 2021, no. 38, dated 11 March 2025, by F.C. Internazionale Milano S.p.A. and A.C. Milan S.p.A. This proposal has been officially accepted, as is clear from the announcement.

Now, there will be a period of at least 30 days during which a public tender will be open to assess if any other parties, in addition to Inter and Milan, express interest in this area. The city of Milan remains committed to its goal of regenerating the San Siro district by building a new stadium and converting the existing facility for new functions.
