After the initial rumors that circulated in recent hours, further details have emerged regarding the injury of one of the expected protagonists of the Champions League quarter-final between Bayern Munich and Inter. The two teams will face each other in the first leg on April 8 in Germany, while the return match is scheduled for April 16 at San Siro.
According to Bild, Manuel Neuer‘s recurring calf injury, picked up during training, seems more serious than initially expected. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper, who was injured during the first-leg match of the round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen, will definitely miss the upcoming Bundesliga matches against St. Pauli and Augsburg.
According to the German newspaper, Neuer currently has no chance of recovering in time for the first leg between Bayern Munich and Inter. There remains a small hope for coach Vincent Kompany, however, that Neuer could recover for the return match in Milan on April 16.
