Cristian Chivu‘s Inter will take the field tonight to try to overturn the 3-1 defeat suffered in the first leg against Bodo/Glimt. To secure qualification, the Inter coach is preparing to field his strongest starting eleven, especially now that the lead over second place in the league, Milan, has stretched to 10 points.
In front of Sommer in goal, Akanji will play at the center of defense, with Bisseck and Bastoni on his sides. The Swiss player also represents an offensive threat on set pieces: in February he scored two almost identical goals from corners taken by Dimarco, against Sassuolo and Lecce.
Dimarco himself has become the main engine of Chivu’s team. The left winger has increased his playing time and consistency, increasingly completing the full 90 minutes. In the absence of Calhanoglu, he takes all the corners: in the league, Inter has scored fifteen goals from corner kicks. The Italian will play on the left, with Luis Henrique on the right wing.
In midfield there will be Barella and Mkhitaryan, while the playmaking duties will be entrusted to Zielinski. The Pole, who came on during the match in the first leg in Bodo, will have to orchestrate the attacking plays and also keep an eye on Berg, the opposing playmaker through whom almost all Norwegian actions pass. It will likely be a decisive duel for the outcome of the match.
In attack, the reference point will be Pio Esposito, with Marcus Thuram supporting him. With Lautaro out due to injury, the only backup striker available on the bench will therefore be Bonny.
Below are the probable lineups for Inter-Bodo Glimt:
INTER (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Barella, Zielinski, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Pio Esposito, Thuram. Coach: Chivu.
Bodo/Glimt (4-3-3): Haikin; Sjovold, Bjortuft, Gundersen, Bjorkan; Evjen, Berg, Fet; Blomberg, Hogh, Hauge. Coach: Knutsen.
