According to Pastore, Inter shows an attitude of excessive confidence that sometimes proves to be counterproductive. The journalist, speaking to DAZN, drew a parallel with the French national team at the World Cup: “Inter is a very French team, it has two French players on the field plus Pavard. It has an attitude of great confidence, self-belief that leads them to say we are so strong that… Like France at the World Cup, first match against Senegal, disastrous first half then they won.”
The analysis came after the draw against Roma, a match in which the Nerazzurri showed two completely different sides. After Koné’s brace, it seemed like a different team came out of the locker room compared to the one seen in the first half.
“It’s a team that knows it can turn it on at any moment. They did it with Napoli and Udinese,” continued Pastore. The problem, according to the journalist, arises when the Nerazzurri face opponents having a great night: “Every now and then you find a team in top form and then you can’t recover.”
The flaw highlighted would not be easy to fix, especially when it appears in big matches. “It’s a flaw that isn’t easy to fix, especially if it repeats itself in big matches. In the showcase match that’s worth a step forward, it’s understandable that Chivu gets angry,” he concluded.
