One training session impresses Inzaghi: the competition for a starting spot opens up.

The month of April has two more Milan derbies Derby della Madonnina scheduled, the first of which will be played tonight as Milan hosts Inter for the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals. Inter’s coach Simone Inzaghi has to cope with several absences, including Taremi, Lautaro, Dumfries, Zielinski and the suspended Asllani.

Due to these numerous absences, the Nerazzurri’s starting line-up should largely have already been determined by coach Inzaghi. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the only real question in Inter’s initial lineup concerns the central defence, which became a competition between two players as of yesterday.

The difficulty for Inzaghi is deciding whether to once again start Acerbi as a central defender or rest him and opt for De Vrij. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Dutch defender completed only one full training session with the team but immediately appeared to be in good form, convincing the coach.
