Martinez, Chivu defends him after a difficult start

Josep Martinez will still be the goalkeeper for Inter in the match against Roma. The Spaniard can count on the trust of Cristian Chivu, who already in the summer personally advocated for him to be promoted as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper.

For this very reason, today Chivu continues to support his goalkeeper, despite a complicated start to the season. After the mistake in Madrid, which he largely redeemed during the rest of the match, Martinez delivered a more worrying performance against Udinese. In five matches, eight goals have already been conceded, mainly due to individual errors rather than systemic problems.

The Nerazzurri defense has lost four experienced players such as Sommer, Acerbi, De Vrij, and Darmian, and has so far received little from their replacements. This situation makes the position of the Spanish goalkeeper even more delicate, as he is called upon to prove on the field the trust placed in him by the coach and management.
