These are the words spoken by Inter president Giuseppe Marotta in the pre-match interview with Dazn just moments before the Derby d’Italia against Juventus:
TOP SPOT – “We are aware that we are in first place, but what matters is the performance we are able to deliver. We have a track record of convincing wins in terms of performance, this is a direct clash but we have to experience it to confirm all the good things we have done.”
HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHES – “There is no mental block, defeats in head-to-head matches are the result of chance and episodes. The performances were convincing and we have to start from this reasoning, we have not been outplayed by anyone.”
JUVENTUS AND SPALLETTI – “The world of sport is beautiful because, beyond the rivalry on the field, you are almost always friends. I face my former teams with great gratitude because they helped me grow. I cannot forget Juventus, just as I have great respect for Spalletti, one of the best coaches around. There is always respect and esteem.”
