Speaking to Prime Video, Pep Guardiola commented on the performance of Inter and his Manchester City in the debut match of the new Champions League. These were his words:

“It was a difficult match as we knew. Inter is a wonderful team. They defended well and on the counterattack they are very strong because they don’t waste the ball. In the second half we played well and we had 4-5 chances and also one of theirs with a Lautaro. We are a fantastic team and I am very happy to coach them”.

“I liked everything about my team, because we attacked against a team that defends so deep and covers so wonderfully. Then they have legs to run, but we defended. It’s normal to leave one or two opportunities for Inter, but in the second half we had 4-5. At this level you can’t and against a team that defends like this you can’t hope for more. We played better than the final”.
